Let the Past Go, Live in the Present

I know you have said this many times; I know I have. “If only I had” or “I should have.” While it is not wrong to want a different outcome for a situation, dwelling on the past is. You can’t change what has already happen. What you can do is change the reasons for making the choices that you did. Simply put, you know not what to do next time.

If you are living in the present, you have got a big problem. No matter how badly you want a situation to change, it can’t. What’s done is done. When you linger in the past, you are keeping those feelings close, which hinders your personal growth for the present and the future. As long as you live on this planet, you will have to make choices. You can’t make clear decisions about anything if you keep bringing up past decisions.

Hard to Admit

For a  lot of people (I am like this at times, trying to change though), it is hard to admit when we have made a bad decision. Your energy would be better spent examining why you made the bad decision you did. What was I thinking? There is nothing wrong with some self-examination every now and then.

The next time you are saying to yourself, “If I shoulda, woulda, coulda,” stop. You can never prepare yourself for every possible outcome to every possible situation in your life. What you can prepare for is your reaction.

Why Should I Believe in God?

#1 Why Should I Believe in God? – Author – P.Smith

The world is a beautiful place. Everywhere you look you can see something amazing. Whether

you are observing a person, looking at flowers or just sleeping away in your own little bed,

there is wonder to be had.

Some may balk at this idea tha throw their own negativity into the

conversation. The flip side of beautiful is ugly as in war torn areas or disease infested nations or

draught and famine. And although this is a true part of our world, it should make one wonder

about how all of this came about.

Even in the areas of “ugliness” there is beauty.

There are families congregating, children playing and people finding the good in their situation.

God is everywhere. He created a world of diversity.

Yes, there is pain and suffering but who is behind all of this?

God created and man has destroyed. Greed and manipulation have given us a

world of ugliness. From warlords to terrorists to thieves, etc, the problems of the world are

manmade. I thank God every day for what I have. My life has not been easy but I am alive and I

get to experience the joy in what I have. I have suffered losses that I never thought I could

rebound from but the one constant in my life has been God.

I have asked “why me” many times and my answer always seems to be “why not me”! I know I have choices to make. God lays out a plan and I must make my own choices. I ultimately enjoy my good choices and deal with my not so good choices. My course in life is what I make of it and knowing that God is with me makes my journey a lot more fulfilling.

How do you make it another day?

This is a great question especially when everything seems to be tumbling down around you.

Some people say just pray.

And some people, as I have found out recently, will actually pray and fast.

As in…no eating or drinking.

I don’t understand this but was told that it’s what it says in the Bible.

I think this is slightly crazy but I understand how it might help. Read More

Work Baby Work!

Sometimes getting things to work and writing blogs can be exhausting.

I’ve had this blog reset so many times that it’s really starting to aggravate me so maybe that’s what I get for getting a God blog.

What the heck is a God blog anyways?

It’s  a blog where I try to explain life.

Can you even do such a thing?

So until this lovely blog does the right thing, I’m not spending too much time on posting here.

OK!  Did you know there was  a difference between blog posts and blog pages?

There is!

So that was my problem. I was searching for a post that I wrote as a page and then BAM..I’m totally confused.

So..I have already written a little of what I believe.

The next time, I’ll try to talk about karma.

Some religious people roll their eyes when they hear karma.  I think that’s silly.

I could say God in place of karma and they would accept it.

It is so strange to me how powerful words can be in a world where people rely so much on other things.

But I guess when it comes down to it…words are the most powerful thing we really have.

Just think of all the battles hashed out on facebook.

It is crazy how the “written word” is no more important than ever.

Perhaps I will go through the bible and see what I see.

That might be interesting.
